　日高村に工房を構える陶芸家・藤原はなさん。ヨーロッパのアンティーク食器のような雰囲気が漂う器のモチーフとなるのは世界の建築物や家具、宝石の装飾など。
　使っている土は、半磁器土と信楽の2種類。繊細な作品や白い器を作るときは半磁器土を、温かい雰囲気を出したいときは信楽を使います。創作の上で、特にこだわっているのは形。円形の作品はろくろで、楕円形や四角の作品は石膏で型を作るというように形によって技法も使い分けています。事前にデッサンはせず、手を動かしながら頭の中のイメージを一気に形にしていきます。
　高台皿やゴブレットのような脚付きのカップといった高さのある器もよく作ります。それは「テーブルに並べたとき、立体的に見えると食卓が楽しくなる」から。食卓の風景を考えた器づくり、それが使いやすさにもつながっています。
　豊かな感性で創り上げられるはなさんの器。これからの作品も楽しみです。

Hana Fujiwara is a ceramic artist with a studio in Hidaka Village. The motifs of her vessels, which have an air of European antique tableware, include architectural structures, furniture, and jewelry decorations from around the world.
　She uses two types of clay: semi-porcelain clay and Shigaraki clay. He uses semi-porcelain clay for delicate pieces and white vessels, and Shigaraki for warmer atmospheres. When creating, he is particularly particular about the shape of his pieces. For example, I use a potter's wheel for circular pieces and a plaster mold for oval or square pieces. He does not make sketches in advance, but rather creates the image in his mind at once while working with his hands.

　I often make tall dishes and cups with legs like goblets. This is because "the dining table is more enjoyable when the dishes look three-dimensional when placed on the table. The tableware is created with the dining scene in mind, which also makes it easy to use.
　Hana's dishes are created with a rich sensibility. We look forward to seeing her future works.
